Time for an update!

thema of the DTS

Heey!!!

very nice of you to read my newsletter!
In my latest newsletter I told you that the Discipleship Training School (DTS) was about to start and now the lecture phase is already over and the students are on outreach in Romania. In this newsletter I want to take you through the last 3 months and look forward to what is to come.

The school started and from the beginning it was a very close group. It was a huge privilege to be able to walk alongside the students for the past few months and see them grow in, for example, hearing God’s voice. There was 1 student who found that quite difficult but during the lecture phase it became easier and easier for her to discern God’s voice. Something else I saw happen in students was that they became passionate about missions. They grew in their understanding of God’s love for the nations and discovered their unique role in sharing the gospel.

50 Years and opwekking!

We were privileged to celebrate a special occasion: the 50th anniversary of Youth with a Mission (YWAM) in the Netherlands. We took time to look back with gratitude and honor those who laid the foundation for YWAM in our country. It was a time of looking back and looking forward to the future.
As we remembered the faithfulness of God and the legacy of those who have gone before us, we were filled with gratitude and awe. The 50th anniversary celebration was a wonderful reminder of the incredible impact YWAM has had on individuals and communities nationwide and beyond.

A week later it was Opwekking where a couple of students and I helped out at YmeO’s promotion stand, but also helped out with Dream center. Which meant walking around the youth area asking God for words of knowledge and prophecy for the young people we met. How beautiful it was to pass on God’s love in this way and to be able to encourage others. Several times we heard that people were touched by the words that were spoken, but also that they found it so special that we came to them when there were so many others and therefore they felt very much seen.

Home!
I am grateful that after 6 months I can already say that this has become my home. Although it is definitely not always easy, I do see that I am starting to settle down more and more.

LOOKING FORWARD
From July 22 to August 5, I will be involved in the mini DTS just like last year. This is a 2 week course in which we cover a number of topics from the big DTS. We already have more than 20 participants coming to Heidebeek for 2 weeks to get to know God in a deeper way.

In September I will continue with support tasks at Heidebeek which includes cooking for the DTS, shifts in the coffee corner or maintaining the building.

In this way, I would like to thank everyone who supports me in prayer and financially! Without you this would not have been possible!

If you would like to know more about what I do and how you can support my work, please take a look at my website.

Thank you for reading this newsletter!

Greetings Gertjan.
